Concrete Financial Support

Safe at Last is a program that provides concrete financial support to people experiencing family violence by removing barriers to their safety. This program ensures that individuals with limited financial means can address their safety rather than remain in unsafe situations.

Sam’s Story

Sam was experiencing violence and abuse from his partner at home. He came to The Today Centre looking for help. One of our Family Violence Specialists listened to his story and supported Sam in creating a safety plan. Through the Safe at Last program, we provided Sam with gift cards for essential items such as groceries and personal hygiene products. This support gave Sam the financial freedom to begin his journey to safety without needing to worry about how he would pay for his basic needs during the transition.

The Today Centre strives to provide a safe, trauma-informed space for individuals to discuss their current concerns and explore options for increasing safety.
