Resilience is Futile: Our First Book Club
On July 29, The Today Centre hosted our very first book club. The author, Julie Lalonde, was also in attendance to discuss her book Resilience Is Futile: The Life and Death of Julie Lalonde. The event was well-attended by community partners, current and past board members, community members and other stakeholders. We had a lot of exciting discussions around the book, Julie's story, and her ideas about the complications of resilience. We are so grateful Julie was able to attend so we could ask her questions and include her in the dialogue.
The Today Centre highly recommends this book to anyone who would like to expand their knowledge on family violence, stalking, survival, and hope. We would also like to extend a big thank you to Julie for making the time to join our book club, and for making the it the success that it was.
If you would like to support the work of Julie Lalonde, you can purchase a copy of her book. In Edmonton, you can purchase it locally at Audrey's Books, Glass Books, or download it on Audible. To learn more about Julie and her past and future endeavors, visit her website.
